is the founding director of Peoples MEDIA Center, a Sr. Producer at Pacifica Radio Network, and the executive producer of Voices With Vision, a weekly radio news magazine produced with the DCRadioCoop every Tuesday at 11am. Katkhouda is an Electrical and Computer Engineer who graduated from the American University of Beirut and worked on Wall street as a corporate executive in Management and Technical Consulting for 12 yrs.
An Arab Muslim woman who grew up in Lebanon during the Israeli invasion, Katkhouda is committed to helping safeguard Earth and humanity, giving voice to people and proposals for Justice and Peace. So she co-founded the dcradiocoop.org — a media production and training outfit for progressive radio producers, and WBIX.org — an Internet radio network after a coup at Pacifica’s radio station WBAI in New York in 2001, going 24/7 one day before the World Trade Center collapsed. She reported live the events surrounding the tragedy including breaking news about asbestos and radioactivity at the site, and the collapse of the 3rd tower, the fate of undocumented workers there and afterwards, the effects of the relief workers and the cleaners of the area. She has also taught media all over the USA, including students at New York’s School of Visual Arts, news directors from Portland to Palestine and some 500 journalists across the world. She has been a senior producer and news editor at Pacifica Radio and WPFW in Washington, D.C. She was a national correspondent with Free Speech Radio News (www.fsrn.org) and works with Atlantic TV Network, FreeSpeechTV (fstv.org), and INNWorldReport.net as a producer and a management consultant.
Katkhouda is also a member of the National Council of Arab Americans, and the co-moderator of How The World Changed After 9/11: Islamophobia and the Rise of Hate in the USA (see HowTheWorldChanged.org)
